Attention trainers and facilitators! You can be a catalyst for positive change.

Add positive psychology (PP) content to your workshops, presentations and briefing sessions…without spending hours on research.

Over three days, you’ll master 10 PP topics and learn how to present them to your groups. You’ll learn advanced-level presentation techniques. And you’ll create an outline for a high-impact PP session you can deliver back at work.

This retreat is designed specifically for professional group leaders, facilitators and trainers. Over three days, you’ll learn to:

  • Explain what positive psychology is and how it differs from ‘positive thinking’
  • Describe the benefits of using PP in organisations and teams
  • Present 10 key models from PP with confidence and flair
  • Handle common objections group members may raise when being introduced to PP concepts
  • Present PP material in engaging and interactive formats, such as teaching metaphors and experiential activities
  • Design a PP module to fit your own facilitation context

Day 1
9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

Discover what positive psychology is – and what it’s not. Find out how to add impact and credibility to your sessions by highlighting the evidence base behind positive psychology. Then take a deep dive into PP tools for building resilience and emotion regulation skills. The techniques covered in this session are useful for facilitators who deliver sessions in change resilience, self-esteem, positive thinking, problem solving and solution focused thinking. It’s an action-packed day.

Day 2
9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

If you want to add zing to your presentations, day two is for you. In the morning, you’ll learn to present three PP models which build social intelligence and communication skills. In the afternoon, you’ll explore advanced training techniques.

These will put the wow factor into your training and presentations. You’ll receive tips on creating PP case studies, videos and teaching metaphors. Then you’ll put your new skills to use during a creative design workshop. Get feedback and advice from master trainer, Eleanor Shakiba, as you design your own PP session.

Day 3
9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

Today’s theme is positive leadership models. You’ll cover PP topics for helping leaders motivate and engage their people. You’ll also learn to explain the evidence-base behind these models. Tapping into this evidence-base is a great way to boost the credibility of your material. The topics covered in day three are suitable for inclusion in culture-change programs, management development courses and leadership development programs. They’re also useful for teambuilding sessions.

Your retreat presenter

Eleanor Shakiba is a master trainer and coach. She is passionate about developing ‘positive deviants’ and the organisations which foster their brilliance. To this task, she brings expertise in the areas listed below.

  • Positive psychology
  • Experiential learning
  • Anthropology
  • Organisational development

Eleanor has taught over 50,000 people to think and behave in ways which build success.

She started her career as a playwright and theatre director. During this time, she developed the performance skills which underpin her signature training style – dynamic and bold, with a dash of quirky humour.

In the mid 1990s, Eleanor discovered her passion for facilitation and adult education. She worked for ten years as a trainer and facilitator at the University of Sydney. In 2006, she was ready to break out of the employee mindset. She founded Think Learn Succeed – a business which specialises in training and coaching for exceptional people. Today she spends half her time in Sydney, Australia and the other half in Bali, Indonesia. She’d love to meet you at a retreat in Bali soon!
